Loft Boarding Package for New Builds
Raised Loft Boarding is a perfect addition to any new build. It immediately creates added storage space for your new home while being the only raised loft boarding system that won’t invalidate the warranty.
You can expand this storage further by investing in Truss Shelving. They are quick and easy to install, offering additional storage space above the floor level, fitting between the trusses of your loft, which are commonly found in most UK houses built since the 1990s.
As well as boasting an additional 50% storage space in your home, the energy savings are a massive benefit. This is because the patented raised system actively protects and enhances the efficiency of your loft insulation, so your heat is effectively retained within the home.
The new build loft boarding package starts from just £699.93 for a six m² area and includes a three-section aluminium or timber loft ladder with an operating pole. Loft lighting is essential to navigate your loft safely and find your personal belongings with ease. We will have our fully qualified electrician install a single pendant light and switch that you can upgrade to a fluorescent tube light if preferred.
Loft Boarding Package for Pre 1975 House
Over the years, the construction methods of UK homes have changed dramatically. Older Houses often have uneven joists, smaller loft entrances, and no supports for the water tanks, wiring and pipework. Our packages for older properties are the perfect answer to easily solve most of these issues.
Our loft boarding packages for post and pre-1975 homes start at £879.93 for a six m² area and include the same ladder and lighting in the New Build package, offering an enlarged loft opening with a drop-down hinged energy-efficient UPVC hatch.
Because older properties are typically insulated to a lower standard than modern homes, this package includes adding more loft insulation to bring them up to the recommended depth of 270mm. Alternatively, it may have just been some time since your insulation was laid, and its efficiency has decreased, so it needs replacing.
As well as this, you may wish to have your loft roof lined to protect your belongings from roof debris and add extra efficiency to your home. Depending on your needs, we have you covered with either breathable loft lining or thermal loft lining to help with the loft’s ventilation and insulation.
Loft Boarding Package for Post 1975 House
Our loft boarding package for a house built after 1975 is a mixture of the solutions outlined in our New Build and Pre 1975 packages and can include the below:
- An area of LoftZone’s StoreFloor raised to 270mm, including interlocking loft boarding to accompany it.
- 3 Section aluminium or timber fixed stow away loft ladder with operating pole.
- New Enlarged loft opening to meet building regulations with a white plastic fold-down insulated hatch frame and door.
- Light Fitting, Bulb & Switch by a fully qualified electrician with a minor works certificate issued.
