Our story begins with a simple idea.  

InstaLoft was created to help homeowners make better use of the space they already have. What started as a one-person operation in a Telford garage has grown into the UK’s leading loft boarding company, built on innovation, hard work and a commitment to doing things properly.

From day one, our focus has been on delivering safe, high-quality solutions using trusted systems and a team who take pride in their craft.
As the business evolved, so did our reach. Demand from customers across the country led to new depots, new teams and new opportunities, allowing us to support more homes than ever before.

The timeline below charts the key moments in our journey and the milestones that have shaped who we are today.

Our History

2014

Rob Stone launches InstaLoft

InstaLoft is founded by Rob Stone, operating from his home garage in Telford.
2015

First depot opens in Tweedale

The business grows quickly thanks to strong customer demand, leading to the opening of our first official depot in Tweedale.
2018

Expansion into the South of England

Continued success enables the opening of a second depot in Reading, allowing us to serve customers across the South and South East.
2019 - 2023

Nationwide growth

A further six depots are opened during this period, bringing our total to eight and strengthening our national coverage.
2020

New Head Office in Hortonwood, Telford

Having outgrown our Tweedale site, our Head Office and warehouse operations relocate to a larger, purpose built facility in Hortonwood.
2022

Instaspark launches

Our electrical division, Instaspark, is introduced. First serving the West Midlands, it soon expands across England and into parts of Wales.
Today

The UK’s largest loft boarding installer

We now employ over 150 people and have completed more than 66,000 installations across England and Wales, making us the largest and most experienced loft boarding installer in the UK.

Today, InstaLoft is a nationwide operation with over 150 employees, eight depots and tens of thousands of successful installations behind us. But despite our scale, our values remain unchanged. We are a people-focused business that invests in our teams, supports local communities, and maintains the highest standards in every home we enter.

Our growth has allowed us to expand our services, develop specialist divisions such as Instaspark, our Electrical specialists, and continually enhance training, safety, and customer care.

We are proud of how far we have come, but even more excited about what lies ahead as we continue to innovate and lead the industry.
